10. Nurses constitute as high as 80% of Uganda's health workforce.

9. In 2020, Uganda had 17 nurses and midwives per 10,000 population, which is below the World Health Organization's recommended nurse-to-population ratio for providing adequate coverage of essential interventions.

These homes incentivize qualified nursing staff to continue working at Lacor, as they provide greater stability for their dependent families and allow the nurses the flexibility to use their salary to send their children to school.
