OUR WORK
Social Promise is a nonprofit organization that helps you to provide education and improve health in Uganda.
At Social Promise, we have chosen to help the vulnerable people of northern Uganda because we met them, they asked for our help, and we knew we could respond.
70%
of children in northern Uganda
do not eat three meals a day
91%
of women in Uganda receive no
more than a high school education
89%
households in the Gulu region are farther than 5 km from the nearest health facility
You make an impact
You have cared for almost 100 orphaned children each year at St. Jude Children’s Home, championed their transition to a full-inclusion orphanage serving children in small group homes, improved maternal health by providing salaries for midwives at Lacor Hospital, and provided oxygen during the COVID-19 epidemic.

Your child has learned about poverty and philanthropy
You believe children everywhere deserve a chance to thrive. You know people can’t solve problems they don’t know about, so you have worked with Social Promise to teach your child about life in rural Uganda, global poverty, and philanthropic solutions.

You deserve to know how your donations are spent
You know the poorest people in the poorest places don’t deserve to be suffering. So you donated generously to support education, healthy living, and medical care in rural Uganda.
