Francis Fordjour

Francis Fordjour, Ph.D.

Emeritus Director & Board President | Takeda, Global Portfolio Strategy

Francis was born in Tema, Ghana and moved to the USA in 2009 for college. He graduated from DePauw University with a major in Biochemistry and received his Ph.D in Biological Chemistry from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Prior to his position as Associate Director in the Global Portfolio Strategy at Takeda, Francis was a Consultant with Boston Consulting Group.

In college, Francis served as the Public Relations Officer for the International Students Association, as a class senator for the DePauw Student Government, and as a mentor and tutor for local high school students. In 2013, Francis traveled to Rukungiri, Uganda with the Harvard University Global Hunger Initiative where he served as a Global Health Intern as part of the initiatives to end childhood malnutrition, by training nurses and nursing students on the World Health Organization protocol for diagnosing and treating malnutrition.  At the end of this experience, Francis traveled north to visit with Social Promise partner organizations, Lacor Hospital and St. Jude Children’s Home, in Gulu, Uganda.
